Price: $10,000 New

Alter-Ego is no longer making the Contrabbasso as the luthier who made them has retired. This is the last one and we are selling it at the old price and including a Travel Case that is an $890 value. The travel case allows you to carry the bass in a plane as cargo.

Description:

  • The Alter-Ego Contrabasso:

    • comes with a pickup with buffered line-out

  • The bass comes with:

    • a high-quality padded cover

    • can be packed away in a durable and light travel case, assembly and disassembly takes minutes

    • an option is a newly designed tailpiece (patent pending) that allows you to easily tune the after length of each string. This bass is currently set up with Evah Pirazzi strings.

  • This instrument has a removable neck that, after removing the upper right rib, fits inside the body and attaches to a fixture that connects to the neck block. Setting the soundpost is done by simply reaching through the open rib and placing the soundpost on the registration marks.
